Mayor Sorace Named President of Pennsylvania Municipal League

October 21, 2021 | Mayor's Office

Mayor Danene Sorace was recently elected President of the Pennsylvania Municipal League while the organization held its Municipal Leadership Summit earlier this month in Lancaster City.

The Pennsylvania Municipal League is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization established in 1900 as an advocate for Pennsylvania’s 3rd class cities. Today, The League represents participating Pennsylvania cities, boroughs, townships, home rule communities and towns that all share The League’s municipal policy interests.

Mayor Sorace has served as a member of the PA Municipal League’s Board of Directors since 2018. In this role, she has advocated for legislative action in Harrisburg to strengthen and empower Pennsylvania’s cities.

“I’m honored and grateful for the opportunity to serve as President of The League,” said Mayor Sorace. “The League’s dedicated board of local leaders and I will continue to elevate the issues that impact cities, townships, and boroughs every day.”
