The City of Lancaster is seeking feedback from the public on how to make Conestoga Pines Park and Walnut Street Fishing Area a place that people of all ages and abilities can enjoy year-round. Input is being collected through a public survey, which will be open through Feb. 28.

The public can access the survey on Engage Lancaster. The survey is available in both English and Spanish.

The City is preparing a master plan which will guide future investments in the park. The draft plan will be available for public review and feedback in April, with the final plan slated to be finished by the end of May.

Conestoga Pines is recognized as an integral part of the City park system, providing connections to natural wooded areas and the Conestoga River. Programming from the Lancaster Recreation Commission ensures active use of the space with day camps and the city’s only full-size swimming pool.

The revitalization of parks within Lancaster is an ongoing program designed to improve amenities and accessibility, provide a variety of recreational opportunities, and encourage individual and family use of natural and recreational areas, as well as integrate park improvements with other City initiatives such as natural resource conservation, increased tree canopy, expanded bike and pedestrian facilities/trails, and public education and involvement.
