On June 6, 2014, the City of Lancaster submitted a water rate case filing with the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission to increase rates for water customers whose properties are located outside of the City. Rates for these customers must be approved by the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC). The City’s rate increase filing with the PUC is the first step in this rate approval process. This increase is proposed to take effect on August 5, 2014.
Below are some documents that provide additional information about the City’s water rate filing. This site will be updated throughout the PUC rate approval process as additional information regarding the City’s proposal is available.
The Public Utility Commission has also created a page with information about the City’s water rate filing - www.puc.state.pa.us/about_puc/consolidated_case_view.aspx?Docket=R-2014-2418872. This page will be updated by the PUC as new documents are made available and as the case makes its way through the approval process.
