East Vine Street: Stop #9
Gundaker Barn/House 130 East Vine Street
This stone building was built circa 1798 as a barn or stable, and was converted to a double house in 1838, making this structure a very early instance of "adaptive reuse." Note the steeply pitched roof, which is a traditional Germanic building feature.
[Private residence not open to the public.]
