Drinking Water Emergency Testing Equipment

Water Emergency Testing Equipment

To maintain safe drinking water, the City Bureau of Water operates a Chemistry Lab, Microbiology Lab and two Water Plant Operation Labs that test the drinking water daily. The Bureau also has emergency test equipment to be used in times of threatened or actual drinking water contamination. In the event of terrorist activity or other emergencies, the City will utilize the portable field test kit to analyze water for chemical warfare agents, toxicity, heavy metals and various other contaminants.

The Lancaster County Emergency Management Association (LEMA) provided funding to purchase the equipment.
