Recycling and Reuse in Food Establishments
Food establishments can reduce their waste considerably by employing both recycling and reuse. Some methods for handling of restaurant waste might include:

1. Recycling of corrugated cardboard, glass, metals and plastic

2. Contact your container supplier about the feasibility of a polystyrene recycling project. Please note, in Pennsylvania, DART Container works with its customers to recycle polystyrene

3. Ask suppliers to provide you with products packaged in materials such as recyclable or reusable paper, glass, steel, aluminum or plastic

4. Collect and send used grease to a renderer

5. Include recycling information in your orientation for new employees

6. Remind employees to keep food waste out of recycling containers
