Recycling White Goods (Appliances)
Large appliances require special disposal methods. Federal law mandates that appliances that contain refrigerants be recovered and recycled. Those appliances include refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, water coolers and dehumidifiers.
You or an independent hauler may take the appliances to the Lancaster County Solid Waste Management Authority (LCSWMA) facilities to have these items recycled. For information about disposal costs and hours of operation, contact LCSWMA at 717.397.9968 or visit www.lcswma.org.
