Architectural Treasure Hunt along Historic East King Street
Children can test their powers of observation through "An architectural treasure hunt along historic EAST KING STREET" (2 MB PDF document). The treasure hunt route takes in eighteen properties along five blocks of East King Street, and asks treasure hunters to spot architectural features identified through photographic details and short poems. Children of all ages will learn about the function of these architectural components, as well as gaining new skills in scrutinizing older buildings and discerning the details and craftsmanship that add interest to historic architecture.
Adults and older children can explore the historic architecture along this same stretch of East King Street through the "Self-Guided Walking Tour along HISTORIC EAST KING STREET from Penn Square to Broad Street" (8.8 MB PDF document).

This treasure hunt was developed in cooperation with staff from the East King Improvement District. Find out about their programs and activities at www.historiceastside.org.
The architectural treasure hunt brochure was financed in part with Federal funds from the National Park Service, Department of the Interior.
