Freedom Of Religion Walking Tour

The 2001 publication of this self-guided walking tour guide was co-sponsored by the Lancaster County Heritage Partnership (whose participants are the County of Lancaster, Pennsylvania Dutch Convention and Visitors Bureau, and the Historic Preservation Trust of Lancaster County) and the Downtown Lancaster City Ministerium.

The "Freedom of Religion" walking tour introduces participants to eight historic churches in two of Lancaster's earliest areas of settlement, Hickorytown and Churchtowne. The eight sites on the tour are: St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church, Trinity Lutheran Church, St. Mary's Catholic Church, First Presbyterian Church, St. James Episcopal Church, First United Methodist Church, and First Reformed Church.

A copy of the 14-page tour guide, provided by the Lancaster County Planning Commission, can be downloaded, in a PDF format, by clicking here. www.co.lancaster.pa.us/heritage.
