Choosing to become a Police Officer sends many messages.  It means that you are committed to the service of others, want an exciting and challenging career and, have decided to spend time in service to the public.  In the City of Lancaster, being a Police Officer is not only a way of life but a genuine belief in the Mission of the Lancaster Bureau of Police, which is:

We are seeking qualified individuals to join our police force.    Applicants must be able to pass the civil service exam, meet the physical and mental requirements of the position and pass a rigorous background investigation.  We are especially interested in City of Lancaster residents and Veterans.

Starting salary is $40,661 with a very generous time off and health insurance package. 

If you are interested in being considered for a Police Officer position, you may do any of the following:

Print out and complete the Application for Employment and the Police Officer Addendum.

 

Visit the City of Lancaster Bureau of Human Resources and pickup an Application for Employment and the Police Officer Addendum.

After you have completed the Application and Addendum, you may send them along with a check for $25.00 made payable to the City of Lancaster (for the civil service exam) no later than February 25, 2011 to:
