The City of Lancaster was awarded a 2015-2016 grant by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission through the Certified Local Government (CLG) Program to support the City’s historic preservation programs and activities, including development of a brief video exploring Lancaster’s historic architecture and historic preservation efforts. With input from Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology, the video was designed for classroom use to introduce students to the unique characteristics of older buildings as they move toward careers as contractors, masons and carpenters.

The video can also be enjoyed by City residents and visitors alike, as participants discuss the value of Lancaster’s historic architecture to the City’s unique urban character and the importance of Lancaster’s regulated historic districts.
