Lancaster is a welcoming city proud of our diversity, so Lancaster Public Art was pleased to work with Emerson Collective, Church World Service, League of Women Voters, Lancaster Stands Up, Latinx Lancaster and Invisible Americans to create Inside Out Dreamers, a temporary art installation at 101 North Queen Street. The City of Lancaster has renamed Farnum Park, located at South Water and Conestoga Streets, Culliton Park in honor of Carol Culliton-Metzger who has kindly supported future improvements in the park through a generous donation from the Gunterberg Charitable Foundation. In the fall of 2018, the park will undergo a transformation, thanks to both the donation from the Gunterberg Charitable Foundation as well as a newly awarded $300,000 grant from the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. The City of Lancaster is one of eleven grantees nation-wide selected for funding for a Partners for Places matching grant, led by the Funders’ Network for Smart Growth and Livable Communities in partnership with the Urban Sustainability Directors Network. The $30,000 grant will enable the City of Lancaster to lead an equity-focused, community-wide planning effort resulting in a comprehensive climate action and resilience plan for the city.
